We care about your results because when you look good, we look good. When you hire Aurora Enterprises as your hydroseeding contractor we will choose the right material for your application and get the job done effectively, efficiently, and on time. Our results will exceed your expectations.
CARING FOR YOUR NEW LAWN
Special care in the first 2 weeks of your new lawn is very important! Seeds need water to germinate, and sometimes you have to help Mother Nature to keep your new lawn moist to maximize and speed the germination of the grass seed.
Frequent light watering is the best way to keep the hydroseeded surface moist without over watering, done early morning and late afternoon and more if the weather is hot. Cut back or eliminate watering on days it rains. Over watering can wash away the seed, and can promote fungus growth.
Once the grass seed germinates, you can cut back on watering but need to keep the lawn moist enough to keep the grass growing. When the grass is about 1 inch tall, reduce watering to every 2-3 days.
Weed growth may occur as weed seed is prevalent in the soil – there is no weed seed in the hydroseed mixture. Weeds like warmer, drier conditions, so keeping your soil moist will help deter weed growth.
Mowing can begin when the grass has grown to 4-5 inches; keep it about 3 inches long while it is getting established.
Fertilize lightly late in the Fall with either 8-32-16 or 16-16-16 fertilizer. Do not overlap your fertilizer or over fertilize!
Apply granular lime the next year in early Spring to sweeten the soil and neutralize the pH.
Remember: the more you love your lawn, the better it will look!
